Glacier National Park FAQs

What you need to know about entering Glacier National Park this summer.

How do I get access to Glacier National Park?

All visitors must have a Park Entrance Pass to enter any area of Glacier National Park. A Standard Entrance pass will cost between $20 and $35 depending on your mode of transportation. Annual park passes are $70 and Interagency passes for all national parks as well as Senior passes are also available. Entrance passes can be purchased online or upon entering Glacier National Park.

Does my Entrance Pass give me access to every area of Glacier?

In addition to the Entrance Pass, a $2 Vehicle Reservation is required for three areas of Glacier National Park. The Vehicle Reservation System has been enacted to reduce congestion, improve visitor experience and protect park resources.

  1. Going-to-the-Sun Road | Vehicle Reservations are required for east bound traffic on GTTS Road past the reservation checkpoint from May 24 through Sept 8, 2024 from 6a-3p. Reservations are good for one day. Visitors without reservations will be detoured at the checkpoint & routed back through Apgar Village. Visitors will be able to access Going-to-the-Sun Road from the east side beyond Rising Sun without a vehicle reservation. Visitors will also have access to the St. Mary Visitor Center & shuttle stop on the east side of Glacier National Park.
  2. North Fork | Vehicle reservations are required for the North Fork area May 24 through Sept 8, 2024 from 6a to 3p. Reservations are good for one day.
  3. Many Glacier | Vehicle reservations are required for Many Glacier starting July 1 through Sept 8, 2024 from 6a to 3p. Reservations are good for one day. Advanced reservations for Many Glacier will be available beginning March 3, 2024 at 8a.

How can I purchase a Vehicle Reservation?

Vehicle reservations are available two ways:

  1. A portion of vehicle reservations will be available 120 days in advance on a daily rolling basis, beginning Jan 25, 2024 at 8a Mountain Standard Time.
  2. Next day vehicle reservations will be available at 7p MST for next-day entry, starting May 23, 2024 on a daily rolling basis.

Vehicle Reservations can be purchased online at or toll-free at 877.444.6777.

If purchasing online, visitors will need to set up an account on and are encouraged to do so prior to the day reservations open. Call centers are open daily from 8a to 10p MST.

How long is my Vehicle Reservation valid?

Vehicle reservations are good for one day only and each of the three areas above require a separate reservation.

How can I see the park without a Vehicle Reservation?

From May 24 through September 8, 2024, visitors without vehicle reservations may enter vehicle reservation areas before 6a or after 3p without a vehicle reservation.

St. Mary and Two Medicine entrances do not require vehicle reservations in 2024. St. Mary provides access to Going-to-the-Sun Road driving east to west. Please note that visitors who enter from the east side will not be able to return through the Apgar Check Point without a vehicle reservation between 6a and 3p.

Many Glacier does not require a vehicle reservation before July 1, 2023.

For Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor, vehicle reservations will be checked going east at the Apgar Check Point. Visitors will have access to the Apgar and St. Mary Visitor Centers and park shuttle locations outside of the vehicle reservation area.
